Every Grain Matters — The Lost Food Project

What some see as surplus, others see as a meal. 🌱

As part of Environmental Month 2026, APU students volunteered at The Lost Food Project, helping to sort and rescue edible fruits and vegetables for redistribution to families, orphanages, welfare homes, and elderly care centres. 💯

Beyond reducing food waste, the experience reminded students that every fruit saved, every vegetable sorted, and every helping hand offered can make a difference in someone’s life. 💚

Through compassion, teamwork, and community action, they learned that sustainability is not only about protecting resources. It is also about caring for people.

Turning surplus into support and food into hope. ✨

Through cultural activities, heritage experiences, and visits to tourism attractions, students gained valuable insights into how Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage is preserved, promoted, and transformed into meaningful visitor experiences.

The trip provided a unique opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world tourism practices, deepening students’ understanding of heritage management and sustainable tourism development. 🇲🇾💙
